Cook (Care Home)

Belmont Recruitment are currently looking for an experienced Cook to work with a Nottingham-based Local Authority on a temporary basis. This is a part-time role working 22.5 hours per week between the hours of 8:30am – 4pm. The role is based within a residential care home and the successful candidate will be subject to a DBS check for this post.
Main Duties:
* To carry out preparation of vegetables and other basic food preparation.
* Responsible for the washing up of pans, utensils and crockery.
* Cleaning of equipment and premises as part of the cleaning rota.
* Packaging, delivery and assisting with service of food to citizens.
* Working with due regards for own personal safety and that of others within the establishment.
* Work within the parameters of Food Hygiene Legislation.
* To adhere to all relevant policies and procedures.
* To work on own initiative, unsupervised whilst carrying out duties.
Essential Criteria:
* Previous experience as a Cook/Chef within a health and social care environment (Local Authority/NHS/School/Care Home/etc.).
* Food Hygiene certificate.
* Enhanced DBS Certificate.
* Understanding of healthy cooking principles.
