Job Title: Trainee Careers Adviser

Location: Maidstone, Kent

Contract: Permanent, Full-time

Salary: £25,372 per annum, rising to £26,398 after 1 year's service

Role Overview:

We are seeking Trainee Careers Advisers to join our National Careers Service team. No direct experience is necessary as comprehensive training and support will be provided. The successful candidates will play a crucial role in supporting individuals to achieve their goals and make informed decisions about their education, employment, or training.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide information, advice, and guidance to individuals on career opportunities, learning pathways, and employment options.

Complete a fully funded qualification in Careers Information Advice and Guidance as part of the training program.

Engage with clients in a professional and empathetic manner to understand their needs and aspirations.

Undertake work shadowing, practical experience, and on-the-job training to develop skills and confidence in the role.

Collaborate with colleagues and external partners to deliver effective careers guidance services.

Maintain accurate records of interactions and outcomes using relevant systems and databases.

Stay up-to-date with developments in education, employment, and training to provide accurate and relevant information to clients.

Essential/Desirable Criteria:

Previous experience working with people in retail, customer service, sales, recruitment, education, or employability.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with diverse individuals.

Organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.

Competency in using internet and IT systems.

Genuine passion for supporting others to achieve their goals and make positive changes in their lives.
