What we are looking for: An individual who excels at multitasking, is a team player and detailed oriented. This is a great position for someone that is detailed oriented, analytical, collaborative and trustworthy.
Position Summary: The Tax Specialist is accountable and responsible for all aspects of quality service for clients to ensure timely, efficient reconciliation and entry of daily, quarterly, and annual tax deposit information. Contacts and assists clients in process of obtaining information for tax related issues. The Payroll Tax Specialist ensures all mid-quarter and mid-year conversion processes are completed timely and accurately. Effectively manage assigned client relationships with all internal and external business partners to enhance the overall client experience. Including a wide range of activities such as payroll processing timelines, researching, and resolving payroll related issues. Excellent analytical skills for identifying, researching, and resolving potential issues preferred. Assist with various departmental and company projects as requested.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Resolution of in-depth payroll tax issues involving various taxing agencies including State and Local agencies.
Responsible for accurate and timely preparation and submission of payroll taxes and returns.
Act as a client advocate for payroll tax filing matters.
Answer client’s tax-related questions and communicate tax-related items directly to client via phone, fax and email
Ensure compliance with all applicable, state and local payroll tax regulations.
Accurately research and resolve client payroll tax issues in a timely manner.
Provide Payroll system training to clients in setting up multi state employees
Analyzes balances and reconciles client tax deposit and filing information with employee balance information and resolves any out of balance conditions by working with the client, third party tax agencies and assigned Implementation Specialists.
Coordinates and reviews client documentation for client deposits and filings for all affected quarters.
Proactively communicates any balance issues, develops resolution plan, and notifies client of any advice of debit as applicable.
Utilizes various means of client communications including Quarterly Tax Verification letter to notify clients of current tax status.
Utilizes current processes, tools, and systems to enter and submit current and prior quarter tax liability and tax deposit information.
Contacts clients for any missing information for the proper processing of payroll.
Assists in processing weekly transfer of payroll data to payroll system.
Assists the client in pulling payroll management reports from payroll software system, writing custom reports, or running appropriate reports.
Makes client user changes as authorized by the client, i.e. new employee system access, reports on demand, changing Direct Deposit information, etc.
Escalates complex payroll, benefit, or other ancillary functions to the Payroll Manager.
Performs other duties or special projects as assigned.
Maintains client files.
Researches and resolves client/system problems.
Establishes and maintains a positive working relationship with clients, agencies, and coworkers to promote a quality customer service image
Participates in or conducts training sessions for other staff.

Pay: $23.00 – $24.00 per hour

Associate (Preferred)
Experience:
Accounting: 1 year (Required)
