Accounts Payable Specialist

Elevation Accountancy and Finance is thrilled to collaborate with a prominent, large international trading company in the Hessle area as they seek to recruit an accounts payable controller for their team.

This role presents an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic business that has experienced remarkable growth over the past 18 months. They are now eager to bring in the next generation of finance professionals.

As the accounts payable specialist, you will be responsible for processing multi-currency transactions, handling invoice processing, and much more. Reporting directly to the financial controller, this role offers the chance for long-term development and growth within the company.

Responsibilities will include:

Accounts Payable control (invoice coding & posting, supplier statements, resolving queries)
Process supplier invoices
Analyse and understand balances on supplier accounts
Reconcile each supplier’s statement of account Monthly/Quarterly
Pro-actively resolve debit balances on the purchase ledger, maintaining control over the quality of the purchase ledger and allocating payments
Assist with analysis requests, such as for year-end audit and tax computations
Assisting in the month end process as required, including prepayments/accruals, journal posting
Set up International Payments in banking software for payment & process daily payment runs
Credit card receipt/expenses analysis & posting in SAP
Assist with adhoc tasks within the department
Key skills:

Previous accounts payable or similar background experience is desirable
Good attention to detail
A strong sense of ownership and accountability of role requirements and expectations
Ability to respond to changing deadlines and manage a variation of tasks is essential
Ability to manage deadlines in accordance with role requirements and escalate timely where deadlines are compromised or at risk
