Mechanical Project Engineer 1

JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Engineer performs or reviews mechanical facilities system designs and assists with the development of client reports that address project requirements. The Engineer develops technical calculations, specifications and data sheets, performs technical evaluation of bids, and recommends best value design which meets client requirements for operability, reliability, maintainability and safety. The Engineer will have senior technical mentors for assignments.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
* B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline) ABET accredited program required, M.S. preferred.
* EIT certification preferred.
* 1-2 years experience performing basic engineering analysis and design functions preferred.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES - YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
* Apply techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform assigned tasks as part of an overall project.
* Prepare or review project documents including, but not limited to, scopes of work, schematic system diagrams, specifications, and schedules.
* Perform standard computations or analysis for fluid and heat transfer systems.
* Work with estimators to ensure costs are captured and project budgets are met.
* Acquire knowledge and develop skills in mechanical system design and project management.
* Acquire an understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
* Proficiency with reading and interpreting construction contract documents.
* Design, construction, start-up, and commissioning/turnover of facilities systems.
* Ability to lead and provide direction to technical teams.
