Meridian Business Support are working on behalf of a local authority based in Birkenhead, Merseyside. They require a highly experienced Accountant for an interim role for 6 months.

Start Time :09:00 to 17:15

This role is hybrid, it will be a mixture of office based and home working.

The Senior Accountant is responsible for supporting non-finance teams in monitoring and maintaining their budgets, as well as delivering on technical, finance and accountancy-related responsibilities.
The Senior Accountant will provide accurate, timely and comprehensive financial information and analysis to inform decision-making and financial management activities.
The post holder will support the management, development and updating of the medium-term financial strategy and annual budget to ensure that it supports the strategic aims of the Council.The role  is ideal for candidates who are:

A Senior Accountant available to start on 29th April 2024 who can commit to the full length of the temporary contract
Experience working in local authority/council office
