My client

As one of the largest Independent Renewable Developers in Europe my client already owns and operates over 5GW’s of renewable assets in France, Germany, Italy and Spain, with a secured & early phase development pipeline of over 10GW. Due to their continued growth they are now looking to recruit a Micrositing Engineer to join their team in Germany, working on Onshore Wind projects in both the German and French regions.

Tasks:

As part of the planning and development of onshore wind farms, you will be responsible for site planning, design and optimisation of wind farms. You will work closely with the Business Development, Technical and Commercial Asset Management teams to ensure the best possible configuration for each project.

The preparation of the optimal installation plan and the selection of the best possible wind turbine technology are just as much a part of your tasks as the calculation of the annual energy yield and the losses to be determined on a site-specific basis.

Your responsibilities will also include:

Analysis of GIS data to identify potential locations for wind turbines
Design of wind measurement campaigns as well as evaluation of measurement data including MCP
Execution of wind potential analyses, AEP calculations, sound, shadow casting and other calculations of yield losses
Project-specific optimisation of wind farm layouts with regard to AEP and overall economic efficiency
Design and cost calculation of the required project infrastructure
Preparation of technical specifications including communication and coordination with external experts, suppliers, authorities and other stakeholders
Technical support for the approval of the projects
Creation of maps and visualization of projects
Preconditions

You have successfully completed a degree (university of applied sciences or university) in the field of environmental / geosciences or energy technology or have a degree in the field of engineering sciences or have a comparable qualification.

Your relevant and demonstrably successful professional experience in the field of site assessment or micrositing complements your profile. We appreciate your high degree of personal responsibility and initiative, your strong communication skills and your enjoyment of collegial interaction with each other.

Excellent knowledge of the industry-standard software packages WindPRO, WAsP, ArcGIS, W2E, CadnaA, etc.
Very good knowledge of wind turbine technology and the regulations and standards associated with the site assessment
Business fluent English
Success-oriented and entrepreneurial thinking and acting
Flexibility, sociability and negotiation skills
Class B driving licence
Willingness to travel on business within and outside Germany
