Job Role: Complex Carer
Location: Newark
Start Date: ASAP
Salary: £16,000 – £19,000 per annum
Contract Type: Full-Time
Are you looking for a career where you can work with students who have significant learning difficulties? If so, GSL Education can help. GSL Education is actively recruiting a Complex Carer to work in Newark starting immediately.
Complex Carer Responsibilities:
The ability to identify individuals going into crisis mode and follow/be familiar with their special and complex care needs
Provide 1:1 support for individuals with social, emotional, and mental health needs.
Support the delivery of in-class activities, promoting independent learning where possible, and encouraging appropriate social skills.
Follow Education Health Care Plans to ensure outcomes are met.
Previous involvement with people needing complex care is an added advantage.
Previous working experience with Educational Psychology services, Paediatricians, CAMHS or Therapist.
An Enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for a new one with GSL Education.
Complex Carer Responsibilities:
Support on a one to one basis for individuals with complex care needs.
Follow Health Care Plans to ensure outcomes are met.
Assist in engaging lessons including outdoor activities and creative engagement.
Support individual social interaction.
Be able to work collaboratively with staff members and outside agencies, such as counsellors and mental health professionals
Develop self-esteem, confidence, and emotional wellbeing resilience in students to ensure regular attendance in school and active participation in learning and social opportunities.
