Police Crime Bureau Operator
CE Solutions are currently working with Bedfordshire Police, who have an exciting opportunity in their Crime Bureau team to become a Crime Bureau Operator.
The role:
Working within the Crime Bureau you will be responsible for speaking to members of the public who are contacting the force through the 101 non-emergency number, emails, online reporting, and now through our social media platforms.
As a Crime Bureau Operator, you will be taking reports directly from victims of crime and completing a thorough telephone investigation.
You will be responsible for:
* Identifying lines of enquiry on investigations.
* Completing risk assessments and initiating safeguarding.
* Quality assuring crime reports that have been completed by Police Officers and other members of Police staff for data quality, along with other administrative functions.
What you will need:
Candidates will need to have excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills, along with diverse life experiences and resilience. This is a challenging role which requires high levels of professionalism working within our Code of Ethics. You will have the ability to work under pressure, whilst making logical and appropriate risk-based decisions.
The successful candidate will be a highly motivated individual, who has an inquisitive mindset, along with a passion for helping others whilst delivering a high level of service, making a positive contribution to the community. You will be required to attend an intensive training course to provide you with technical skills required to perform this role.
The post holder will be required to work a shift pattern which is a ‘4 on, 4 off’ shift pattern working 2 days, then 2 nights, then 4 days off. This is 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
If successful, you will be required to undertake a Police Vetting Procedure.

Job title: Crime Bureau Operator
Hours: 4 on, 4 off shift. (2 days 6am-6pm then 2 days 6pm-6am, then 4 days off)
Starting salary: £37,315 per annum inclusive of 20% shift allowance and 14.28% weekend working allowance with annual pay rise increments rising to £43,914 after year 3 (again inclusive of the above allowances)
