Mechanical Design Engineer - Halifax - Permanent - £40,000 - £45,000

I Need Recruitment is currently recruiting for a Mechanical Design Engineer. Within the Machine Tool Industry

To be considered for the position of Mechanical Design Engineer, the successful candidate must have the following experience or skill set:

· Experience using Inventor 3D software to draw component details, assemblies and machine parts for manufacturing.

· Must be able to read and understand 2D drawings

· Knowledge of machinery design would be ideal

· Experience of managing projects from initial concept to completion

· Shopfloor knowledge & Manufacturing processes would be beneficial

· Ability to liaise with the Shopfloor Fitting Staff

· Ability to work under pressure & to prioritize own work load

· Strong minded, Self-motivated & Attention to Detail

· Highly motivated with the drive to take on new challenges

· Qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or time served Apprenticeship

· Hydraulics, Pneumatics and any Electrical knowledge would be advantageous

Responsibilities:

· As a Mechanical Design Engineer you will be creating a wide variety of designs for Machine Tools

· Create final assembly, machining drawings and modifying & improving existing designs using Inventor Software

· Ensuring designs are safe to build as well as cost effective

· Provide technical support to the shopfloor and site installation teams as and when required.

. Run your own project with minimum supervision.

· Follow all set drawing office procedure

· Generate part list/BOM’s

· Ensure all designs & part lists are released in timely manner to an agreed timescale

· Liase with customers, suppliers & internal departments to ensure the information is free and flowing.
