We have a fantastic opportunity for a Buyer to join our Trading team to help develop and drive category plans whilst working with a Category Manager on developing your skill sets! This is a great development role within a hands-on role that can lead on to opportunities within the wider trading team.
Your main responsibilities:
* Develop and deliver an effective category management plan that delivers all key targets including sales, category growth, and agreed margin requirements for both wholesale and retail
* Develop, implement, and maintain all company ways of working including following pricing and promotional strategies in line with company strategies
* Develop and drive category and promotional plans
* Collaborate with operations to ensure effective range management and innovation reflecting market and consumer trends
* Build strong working relationships with suppliers, demonstrating versatility in negotiating style and the ability to construct joint business plans
* Monitor all category and supplier performance, understand customer and consumer responses
* Working marketing to enable them with the necessary tools and information to execute the offer to a high standard
About you
* Good communicator
* Attention to detail
* Ability to manage and understand data
* Strong IT skills in; Excel, Powerpoint and PowerBI would be a benefit
* Proactive and self-motivated as well as the ability to work as part of a team
* Ability to build positive supplier relationships
* Confident negotiator
* Passionate about products and able to take pride in their work
* Experience within a food and drink industry would be a benefit
