Transport Planner

We are excited to announce an opportunity for an Operations Coordinator to join our dynamic team. As part of our growing family at an established international courier company, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring seamless day-to-day operations.
Position: Transport Planner
Contract Type:
Permanent, Full-time
Salary: £33,000
Hours: 40 hours weekly allocated in 5 daily shifts from Monday to Saturday. Earliest shift start is 5am and latest shift end time is 11pm (MUST be available for all shift patterns)
Annual Leave: 20 days + UK public holidays
Responsibilities:
* Receive and plan orders from customers.
* Ensure adherence to all SOPs and security protocols by staff under your supervision (including drivers).
* Maintain effective communication with customers to provide shipment updates.
* Troubleshoot issues such as traffic, vehicle breakdowns, and operational delays.
* Collaborate with senior management on continuous improvement initiatives.
* Update and maintain documentation on Transport Management Systems.
* Assist the stock controller in preparing orders for next-day delivery.
Competencies/Personal Requirements/Experience
* Preferable experience in Transport and/or Logistics.
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a team and across diverse groups.
* Ability to foster and maintain relationships internally and externally.
* Aptitude for understanding and addressing business and customer needs.
* Proficiency in general IT skills and MS Office.
* Capacity to thrive under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
* Demonstrated ability to work independently, occasionally remotely, and outside of regular office hours.
* Flexibility to adapt to a dynamic environment.
* Willingness to undergo thorough background checks due to the high-value cargo we handle.
