Selwood has grown enormously over the last few years and to support with continued growth, we have a great new opportunity for an additional Quality Engineer to join our friendly Quality Team at our Head Office in Chandler’s Ford.

This role will support and work within the Pump Sales & Manufacturing Quality Team. You’ll develop and maintain our quality control systems, enabling both internal and external stakeholders to provide high quality products and services.

This role would be perfect for an experienced Quality Manager or Quality Professional. If you’re looking to move into a new role this would be an ideal opportunity to develop further into the world of quality within a successful manufacturing environment.

The successful candidate will be offered both in house and external professional training to develop their skills further as a Quality Engineer.

About the Role

In this role you’ll be working on recall analysis and preventative actions, internally and with suppliers. You’ll also manage containment actions on the back of non-conforming products, while giving support and cover as needed to the Inspection team.

Other Job Specific Tasks include:

* Assisting the Quality Manager in defining and implementing inspection and quality procedures with new and existing suppliers, as well as auditing existing production stage checks.

* Ensuring the best manufacturing method is agreed, with the aim to receive consistent products to a high standard.

* Recommending drawing improvements with the aim to increase ‘right first time’ levels.

* Assisting in investigations of customer returns/complaints for potential quality related issues.

* You’ll be responsible for maintaining Production Failure and Quarantine processes, ensuring any raised issues are resolved in a timely manner.

* Ensuring that all equipment is calibrated such as hand measurement tools, torque wrenches and pressure gauges.

Skills and Experience:

With your professional and organised approach, you’ll have the ability to read technical drawings and interpret specifications and standards, ensuring the best service is delivered from the Quality Team.

* HNC in engineering or proven history of quality experience within an ISO9001 accredited manufacturing environment.

* Competent in the use of Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel).

* Experience with investigating quality issues within a manufacturing environment.

* Proven analytical skills.

* An in-depth understanding of inspection processes, tools, and best practices.

* Experience with calibration systems.

* Familiar with quality problem-solving and continuous improvement tools.

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to listen and offer sound feedback.

* Experience with working in an environment that is health and safety focused. Ability to encourage others to work safely.

* Knowledge of ISO9001 quality standard.

* Full clean UK driving licence.
