I have an AMAZING opportunity for a PASSIONATE and COMMITTED individual to join a residential service in the Taunton area as a Children's Support Worker.

The service tailors the care & support they provide, prioritising the needs and wants of their young people. You will motivate young people to take ownership of their lives while encouraging their learning and development.

**Due to the nature of the job and the activities involved, we are only able to consider applicants who have a full driver's licence**

Job Title: Children's Support Worker

Salary: £28,393- £29,683 (sleep allowance included)

Location: Taunton (TA7 postcode)

Hours: 40 hours per week

Shift pattern: 2 on 4 off

Contract: Permanent

Responsibilities:

To encourage the young people to do activities and take responsibility for their own lives depending on their age.
To keep the homely, friendly culture and environment of the homes.
To be able to deal with challenging behaviours when needed.
Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare.
Support the children and young people in the home and promote their independence and well-being.
Ensuring the safety of the young people and maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of the individual's; care plan, guidelines, reward system and preferred method of communication.
Support taxing behaviour safely and sympathetically.
Develop and maintain good working relationships with the staff, parents, Social Workers and other professionals involved in the young people's lives such as Psychologists.
Organise and participate in activities and holidays, ensuring risk assessments have been followed.

Requirements:

You must hold a Full UK Manual Driving Licence as you'll be required to transport young people from time to time ESSENTIAL
Experience working with Young People who display challenging behaviours DESIRABLE
Already completed Level 3 NVQ in Children and Young People DESIRABLE
