Job Purpose:

To support and work closely with the Head of Operations to deliver a range of commercial training qualifications that ultimately enables the Construction and Roofing industry’s workforce to demonstrate skills competency. The post will contribute directly through the delivery of NVQs (Level 2 to Level 7) for managers and installers as well as progress towards delivery in the retrofit suite of qualifications.

The post will support the Head of Operations to manage associate assessors at a national level to ensure that an outstanding level of service is provided to employers and candidates that conform to external quality assurance procedures from the awarding bodies as well as the CITB for short course provision.

Key Accountabilities:

To contribute to the overall success of the Company’s direction and five year Strategy.

To support the Head of Operations to contribute towards of the annual Self-Assessment Report by providing key information related to the quality of education performance indicators (off the job training, attendance, learner satisfaction rates).

Market the suite of qualifications commercially to contractors, installers nationally and ensure employers recognised the need for training investment to comply with changing industry legislation (industry accreditation, building safety act and skills competency review).

To support the Head of Operations to ensure allocated targets from the Quality Improvement Plan are implemented to support the Company’s direction to achieve Ofsted outstanding and ensure low risk external quality assurance reports from awarding bodies, CITB and any other professional or funding body.

To deliver a range of Construction and Roofing NVQs (Level 2 to Level 7) inclusive of Insulation and Building Treatments to managers and installers by undertaking on-site assessments to support candidates to create effective portfolios to evidence learning outcomes in accordance with the awarding body standard.

To plan and map the NVQ delivery to ensure core mandatory and optional modules are integrated in a blended model of delivery (remote, on-site, and self-directed study).

Ensure that candidates portfolios and evidence of teaching, learning and assessment are demonstrable, fit for observations and quality assurance procedures.

Comply with government funded contracts where a minimum of GLH will be required to integrate and blend broader topics such as safeguarding and British values as part of the core modules.

Support the Head of Operations to deliver NVQs, CITB short courses and Health and Safety provision to employees and or external clients.

Undertake effective CPD to build an understanding of renewables training products to enable the Company to transition its service delivery in this area.

To keep abreast of technical innovation and industry focus, introducing new concepts that maintain and continuously improve the Company’s cutting-edge services.

To ensure all training activities and materials meet with relevant organisational and statutory policies, including health and safety, employment, and equality laws.

Qualifications:

Level 3 Award in Education (AET) and or Assessor Course (A1) - Essential

VTCT Level 3 Certificate on Assessing Vocational Achievement (QCF) - Essential

Experience:

Ability to demonstrate successful:

Delivery of Training Programmes in Construction and or Roofing (including retrofit)

An understanding of external quality assurance (awarding body)

Extensive experience of designing and delivering training programmes (on-site assessment)

Experience of working in construction or the flat roofing industry

Knowledge:

Knowledge of different learning styles

Excellent knowledge of Microsoft packages

Knowledge of relevant building regulations associated with the flat roofing industry and or Construction

Knowledge of the British Standard Code of Practice

Understanding of any NFRC, CITB developments and new guidelines

Skills and Abilities:

Ability to design and deliver training programmes that cater for different learning styles mapped to a standard

Additional Requirements:

Commitment to achieving high-quality outcomes

This role requires the post holder to be an Car User, hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle.

National Travel will be required which also includes to other Training Centre locations.
