The Verifications Specialist II is a fundamental role in supporting our clients in their employment screening process. This position ensures that the required information is gathered efficiently, accurately, timely professionally, and reported according to our procedures, client needs, and policy. The Verifications Specialist II works in a high-volume, team-centered work environment. They are responsible for verifying (as applicable) standard education, employment, references, and components of the screening package utilizing available resources such as telephone, email, internet, etc.
Responsibilities
Ensure that duties are carried out professionally and in line with the priority to help the candidates get hired
Quickly and effectively research and verify facts provided by candidates to ensure the screening process is completed in a timely manner
Process background reports according to current reporting guidelines and standards
Provide timely follow-up and follow-through on all requests, reports, and escalations
Follow scripts and guided call paths within the software platforms
Maintain in-depth working knowledge of all current guidelines
Ensure accurate and prompt turnaround on all reports
Communicate with candidates and peers with tact and diplomacy
Maintain a “continuous improvement” state of mind
Be open to cross training in other functions outside of immediate scope of responsibility
Assist team members and work as part of a team to ensure customers’ expectations are maintained and when possible, exceeded
Track and report results according to company guidelines and policy
Requirements
Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
Must have an intermediate working knowledge of all Microsoft Office products and the ability to learn new technology
Able to read from notes/script and type at the same time
Ability to foster communication across department
Minimum Requirements
High School diploma (or equivalent), BA preferred
Must be able to type 45+ WPM
Desired Skills & Experience
2-5 years of background screening or related work experience
Good interpersonal skills to create a congenial work environment with team members, and management
Maintain an even temperament to handle disputes and escalated customer issues
Strong organization and problem-solving skills
Bi-lingual is a plus
Ability to think analytically and to evaluate, resolve or escalate client requests/issues as needed
Ability to maintain a professional demeanor and communicate effectively at all levels within the organization (internally and externally)
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Additional RequirementsMust be able to sit for prolonged periods of time at a desk and work on a computer
Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time answering phone calls and speaking on the phone
