Quantity Surveyor- Beaulieu

Murphy have an exciting role for either an Assistant Quantity Surveyor or a qualified Quantity Surveyor to join the team working on a new Railway station, Beaulieu Park Station. This will be a rewarding role offering the successful candidate an excellent project to work on, the opportunity to continue to develop and progress along with interesting work at each phase of the project.

This is a great opportunity to be involved in a high profile portfolio on the CP6 Anglia Framework which is Beaulieu Park Station. Station value of £125 m. The project is to provide a new three-platform station on the Great Eastern Main Line (GEML) approximately three miles north-east of Chelmsford station. This project alone will help excel your career, giving you exposure to a high profile project.

What you will be doing:

You will be pricing and administration under the Main Contract and Subcontracts.
Support the team with management of subcontract payment notices in accordance with statutory and company requirements.
Assist in the preparation of periodic cost/value reconciliation reports.
Identify risks and opportunities in the administration of commercial processes upstream and downstream.
Monitoring of planned vs actual cost across disciplines (Labour, Plant, Material, and Subcontract).
Timely issue of contractual notices and quotations under the project. Who we’re looking for:

Degree qualified or working towards- equivalent in Quantity Surveying and desire to work towards Chartership.
Thorough understanding of good commercial working principles.
Have a solid record of achievement and successful portfolio working across civils or infrastructure projects for a contractor.
Ideally worked on NEC option A, C or E contracts and knowledge and procurement/supply chain.
Ability to measure value adding in planned vs actual estimating and cost.Understanding of commercial gateway process around increasing financial limits and relevant instructions to subcontractors
