The Client is looking for an office based Chartered Quantity Surveyor. The organisation is built upon the knowledge of working across the the following sectors

This is a stimulating opportunity for a confident, personable, self-disciplined, organised, dynamic, and communicative person with a commercial approach and a keen eye for detail to establish robust commercial control with clients old and new on a variety of projects and measured term contracts. A background of working for a PQS office is essential. The successful candidate will be expected to take a lead role with:
Job Description
* Meeting clients to determine their needs and discuss any areas that need revising for price or feasibility
* Calculating material quantities and costs, labour costs and an achievable project timeframe
* Negotiating labour contracts and schedules
* Advising clients and crew on legal matters and disputes
* Monitoring subcontractors, safety practices, construction progress and material needs, including any changes which may impact costs
* Preparing labour and supplier accounts for payment
* Writing reports detailing costs and progress for clients
Requirements
* Masters in quantity surveying and a requirement to be a Chartered Quantity Surveyor (MRICS)
* able to demonstrate practical knowledge of applying the PSA Schedules of Rates under the terms of the JCT Measured Term Contract is also desirable.
* The ability to produce measured BQ’s. They will have a proven track record and be able to demonstrate a competent and recent ability to take off detailed Bills of Quantities using any or all of the following: NRM2, SMM7 and CESMM4 and to demonstrate a good track record in preparing Schedules of Work, and BREEAM compliant estimates using NRM1.
* Basic understanding of MSC office suite
* They will demonstrate a basic understanding of the role of the Building Control Principal Designer
