Manufacturing Engineer

Our client is a specialist and leading manufacturing business within the Aerospace Manufacturing sector.  An opportunity has arisen for a Manufacturing Engineer to join the growing engineering team.

Key Responsibilities:
Develop and optimize manufacturing processes for aerospace components, ensuring quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate design requirements into manufacturing specifications.
Provide technical support and guidance to production teams to ensure adherence to established processes and procedures.
Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to address manufacturing issues and improve process efficiency.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
Evaluate and select appropriate manufacturing equipment and tooling, considering factors such as capability, cost, and lead time.
Perform feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses for proposed manufacturing projects.
Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards, including AS9100 and NADCAP requirements.
Maintain documentation and records related to manufacturing processes, including work instructions, standard operating procedures, and process control plans. Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
years of experience in manufacturing engineering within the aerospace sector.
Strong background in precision engineering, with experience working in a machine shop environment.
Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Mastercam).
Familiarity with aerospace manufacturing processes, materials, and specifications.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma).
