Position Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Staff Accountant to join our finance team. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for assisting with various accounting tasks, including but not limited to financial reporting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliations. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Perform month-end and year-end close procedures, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data.
Reconcile bank statements, accounts payable, and accounts receivable on a regular basis.
Process accounts payable transactions, including vendor invoices, expense reports, and employee reimbursements.
Generate invoices and manage accounts receivable collections.
Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities.
Conduct variance analysis and provide explanations for discrepancies.
Assist with internal and external audits as needed.
Maintain documentation of accounting policies, procedures, and controls.
Collaborate with other members of the finance team to support departmental goals and initiatives.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
2+ years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
Strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, NetSuite).
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
