Textile lab Quality Assurance Coordinator
Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Assurance Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the quality assurance processes related to stock coming into our warehouses in NORAM, deliveries leaving NORAM warehouses, outside lab testing samples, quality contact for textile customer service, and recurring inspection lots. The role requires excellent communication skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with various teams.
Responsibilities:
1.Stock Coming into the Warehouses:
• Daily monitoring of 3rd party traded goods arriving in warehouse.
• Enter quality data results daily, ensuring accuracy and compliance with customer requirements.
• Handle quality data recovery when documentation is not provided, working closely with the procurement team
• Establish direct contact with suppliers to retrieve Certificate of Analysis (COA) when not shipped with material and procurement does not provide.
2. Deliveries Leaving Warehouses:
• Perform daily checks of automatic delivery COA failure transactions and rectify any issues promptly.
• Ensure COA is sent to customers for failed transactions and provide COA for deliveries as requested by customer service.
3. Outside Lab Testing Samples:
• Coordinate the sending of textile traded goods samples to suitable lab for additional testing before release from quality hold.
• Collaborate with the warehouse and Martin Sample email to ensure samples are sent promptly.
• Input data upon receipt of results from suitable lab testing and facilitate the release of products.
4. Quality Contact for Textile Customer Service:
• Address expedited quality data entry requirements for same-day shipments or delivery emergencies.
5. Recurring Inspection Lots - Shelf-Life Extension - 3rd Party Materials:
• Coordinate with Samples Company to obtain samples for recurring inspection lots and ensure they reach the application lab.
Collaborate with the suitable lab to ensure re-testing of materials as needed.
Extend shelf life as requested by the lab on a monthly or as-needed basis.
6. Textile Lab Duties (25%):
• Operate in a safe and environmentally friendly manner in all lab operations, complying with company and local EHS regulations.
• Conduct physical tests and analysis of substrates from lab or bulk trials, following standard operating procedures.
• Evaluate data results, formulate reports, and document all data and results in the TESI system.
• Perform tests to ensure compliance with customer requirements, industry standards, and governmental safety regulations.
• Troubleshoot problems, test products, and fabric for customers, utilizing laboratory equipment and various test methods.
• Maintain a safe work environment through housekeeping duties in the work area.
Requirements
Qualifications:
• University Degree in Science with 1-2 years laboratory experience OR High School Diploma/GED equivalent with 3+ years lab experience in textiles.
• Basic math/algebra knowledge, computer skills, and prior work experience within the textile or related field are required.
• Experience with laboratory equipment and knowledge of various test methods (FTIR, UV/VIS, TLC, etc.) is preferred.
• Previous experience in quality assurance or a related field preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
