Job Description
AECOM is actively seeking a Hydraulic Structural Engineer for immediate employment in our Clifton, NJ office. This would be hybrid role, on site and telecommuting.
The successful candidate will support the Water Business Unit design teams to complete a diverse range of projects that involve design of dams and hydraulic structures. AECOM is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects. The work will involve the design of dams, appurtenant reinforced concrete structures and foundations, and appurtenant steel structures, (e.g. penstocks, spillway gates), and the candidate must be familiar with ACI design codes, as well as the Army Corps and Bureau of Reclamation design guidelines.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:
Performs structural computations and analysis of hydraulic structures such as floodwalls, gate chambers, spillways,
Provide supervision of less experienced engineers.
Prepares structural drawings (plans and details) and visual aids through coordination with CAD team,
Reviews quantity calculations, prepares reports, and creates report figures,
Performs assignments designed to develop professional knowledge and abilities, requiring application of standard engineering techniques, procedures, and codes,
Prior knowledge of structural codes such as ACI 318, AISC Manual of Steel Construction, and ASCE 7.
Perform site visits and inspections.
Provide construction support including reviewing construction submittals and RFIs.
