Hiring a Cost Controller for our client, a leading global mining company, to be based at Wilton or Scarborough for a full time 12-month temporary role.
With a relevant bachelor’s degree (or equivalent), you will have proven experience as a Project Cost Controller or Cost Engineer working on multi-discipline mining or construction projects; with relevant reporting, cost/engineering controls and management systems proficiency.
Appropriate project management skills for a Cost Controller are necessary, with management qualifications an advantage.
Working 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday, on either site (with occasional travel to the other required), you will be:
Managing the full life cycle of project budgets and reporting costs, progress, trends and variations; assessing the value of completed work monthly using the cost management system
Supporting the project controls team and budget owners with forecasts and annual budget preparation
Auditing and verifying cost categories within POs, budgets and contracts
Implementing cost control initiatives to improve efficiency and processes
Managing budget allocations and associated documentation
Providing cost feedback to senior members via dashboards/reports
Maintaining commercial awareness for each project
