To strengthen the Finance and Accounting department, we are currently looking for a Senior Accountant (M/F) . This is a great opportunity to join a fast-growing structure within a young and a dynamic team (8 people). Our client is a is a high performing global investment manager headquartered in Canada and having established its office in Luxembourg in summer 2017 with the view of providing a plateform to make investments, manage assets and provide accounting and corporate services to the company's Luxembourg based investment structures. Investments through the Luxembourg office consist primarly of Real Estate investments in the EU. Reporting to the Finance Director (Luxembourg), the Senior Accountant will provide support to the Luxembourg Finance Team (currently 4 people), assist an Assistant Manager and will work closely with the Canadian and UK Offices and will undertake the following responsibilities: Prepare and sometimes review journal entries for 80+ Luxembourg vehicles in Yardi (accounting software/ERP) and BOB50 as prepared by the Accountant and AP Accountant; Review of payment instructions prepared by the AP Accountant and first review of capital call notices and distribution notices; Monitor and coach an AP Accountant and an Accountant, review their work to make sure they perform their daily duties appropriately and that errors are corrected; Help to ensure that cash is recycled efficiently throughout the European group and suggest cash allocations under the supervision of the Assistant Manager / Finance Director (Luxembourg); Prepare and/or review of financial statements under Lux GAAP; Prepare value-added tax (VAT) and corporate income tax (CIT) returns; Prepare ad hoc reports (interim, liquidation, NAV statements, etc.) ; Handle requests from third parties (asset managers, lawyers, auditors, etc.) as well as our internal teams ; Develop IFRS and consolidation skills over time to support local consolidations and the work on the FREP consolidation; Supporting transactional activities, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders ; Building and maintaining internal dashboards; Proactively suggest improvements to processes; Embracing accountability, enhanced decision making and integrity to deliver on our cultural commitment of Doing Business the Right Way. Business Administration, Finance, Economics or other relevant educational degree 3+ years of relevant Luxembourg experience within an investment/asset management, financial or trust services Strong knowledge of Luxembourg generally accepted accounting principles Good knowledge of Luxembourg VAT and corporate income tax Accounting designation obtained or underway (ACCA, CPA, CA, OEC) preferred Possesses experience working with different external advisors: asset management companies, external auditors, law firms and tax advisors Proficiency in using MS Office Exposure to Yardi is considered an asset Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with fluency in French, German or Luxembourgish (asset) Strong organizational and time management skills, initiative and the ability to manage conflicting deadlines Flexible, team player and client first approach Interested?
