Data Engineering Consultant (Python/Azure)
The Opportunity:
Our client is looking for a client facing Data Engineering Consultant with a background and technical expertise in Azure PaaS, Databricks, and data governance, to drive transformative insights and technical solutions for public sector transport bodies.
You will work alongside a wider team of Data, Architecture and Software consultants to provide technical professional services and deliver a variety of data and digital projects across IoT, connected autonomous vehicles, 5G, future transport and vehicle emissions.
This role would suit a technically minded individual with a thorough understanding of the Azure toolkit, and well-developed soft skills who is interested in working both in a technical and client facing capacity.
Skills and Experience:
* Proven experience with Azure PaaS (Platform-as-a-Service), including hands-on experience with key Azure services
* Deep knowledge of Databricks for data processing and analytics, with the ability to implement best practices for data transformation and optimization
* Solid understanding of data governance, including data quality, data lineage, compliance, and security within cloud environments
* Experience with SQL and Python, with additional familiarity with data modelling and ETL frameworks
* Familiarity with best practices in data management, including ensuring data quality and effective metadata management
* Client-facing experience with strong written and verbal communication skills
