Role Overview: We are seeking a diligent and responsible Food Transport and Cleaning Operative to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial in ensuring the seamless operation of our event catering services. You will be responsible for the meticulous handling, transportation, and cleanliness of our food and equipment, ensuring our high standards are met consistently.
Key Responsibilities:
* Picking and Organising: Accurately pick and organise food, disposables, and cleaning kits, ensuring everything is prepared and loaded onto the van according to the event schedule.
* Delivery and Collection: Safely deliver all necessary items to event venues and collect them post-event, returning them to our central production unit (CPU).
* Temperature and HACCP Checks: Conduct regular temperature checks of food, fridges, and freezers, and complete HACCP checks to maintain food safety standards.
* Cleaning and Maintenance: Perform cleaning duties at satellite venues, including deep cleaning of kitchen equipment such as deep fat fryers. Carry out minor maintenance tasks including but not limited to food trailers to keep them in optimal condition.
* Driving and Trailer Management: Responsible for driving to pick up various items and moving trailers between sites. A UK clean driving licence with BE & C1E endorsements is essential. Licence verification will be conducted.
* Van Upkeep: Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of the van, ensuring it meets health and safety standards.
* Health and Safety Compliance: Conduct all required health and safety checks and identify any potential issues.
* Independent Working: Comfortable working alone, as this will be required frequently.
* Physical Requirements: Capable of heavy lifting, as this role involves moving substantial items related to events and catering.
Essential Requirements:
* Clean UK driving licence with BE & C1E endorsements.
* Proven experience in a similar logistics or catering role preferred.
* Strong organisational and time management skills.
* Ability to work independently and handle physical demands of the job.
