Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Workshop Foreman to join our team in Golborne, Warrington. The Workshop Foreman will oversee the day-to-day operations of our workshop, ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of all activities. While some welding experience is beneficial, the primary focus of this role is on managing the workshop and its personnel.

Your team will initially consist of five welding apprentices daily within the workshop, which will grow year on year, and skilled welders when they return to the yard from site activities. The shop will be yours to shape to the needs of the business.

Practical training of apprentices in multiple welding processes and fabrication techniques
Ability to MIG/MAG/TIG/FCAW weld is essential, as well as an ability to use a range of workshop equipment.
Able to train apprentices in MIG/MAG/TIG/FCAW and support their development as welders
First-hand knowledge of welding automation would be desirable
Manage a variety of fabrication jobs from start to finish, working to a high standard both individually and as the leader of a team
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, plans and instructions.
A strong leader who communicates professionally with other team members, customers, suppliers, contractors, etc.
Ability to work accurately under pressure (to meet deadlines etc.), demonstrating a logical and methodical approach to workloads.
Ordering materials and monitoring stock levels of materials, maintaining accurate stock records and updating the stock control system when necessary.
Take responsibility for the inspection and maintenance of specific equipment.
Overseeing health & safety within the workshop and maintaining a safe working environment
Liaising with the quality and engineering departments to ensure all relevant welding or quality issues are addressed

Qualifications

Work experience as a fabrication foreman/manager or an individual with engineering/PM background
Must be computer literate and proficient using Microsoft office
Responsible, conscientious, punctual, highly organised, self-motivated and able to work under pressure, both on own initiative and as part of a busy team.
Full UK Driving Licence.
