Health & Safety Officer

We are currently seeking a Health & Safety Officer to join my clients team in Blackburn, Lancashire.
Working 8.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Thursday and 8.00am to 3.00pm Friday.
Very generous annual bonus scheme.

35 days holiday including Bank holidays.
Sick pay after 12 months service.
Training will be provided.
Responsibilities:
* Be aware of current legislation governing health and safety at work.
* To monitor, evaluate and review health and safety policy and practice, and to develop and implement procedures as required.
* To work with department managers and staff to ensure all possible risk assessments are prepared and reviewed as necessary in a consistent and effective manner.
* To support all department managers to maintain safe systems of work and implement best practice, including providing specialist advice, coaching and practical support as needed.
* Support all departments in risk assessments, identifying potential hazards and determining ways to reduce risk, including documenting, and implementing safe working procedures.
* To consult employees on health and safety issues, including arranging and attending meetings. Identifies and reviews all relevant Health & Safety matters, minutes are taken, and actions followed through.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
* NEBOSH Certificate
* IOSH Managing Safely Certificate (desirable)
* Experience of auditing, inspecting, and surveying to identify problems and defects.
* Manual handling trainer (desirable)
* Experience in conducting on-site training (i.e. toolbox talks)
