Job Title: Warehouse Operative (Air-Freight)
Location: Altrincham, Greater Manchester
Salary: £25,700
Shifts: 4 on 4 off (6am-6pm)
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
General Responsibilities:
As a warehouse operative, you will organise warehouse and storage facilities and utilise material handling equipment to load and unload air cargo. You will maintain the required safety and quality standards as well as comply with Standard Operating Procedures and company policies.
Specific Responsibilities:
In addition to the main duties and responsibilities listed below the warehouse operative will be expected to perform other duties commensurate with their skills and abilities.
Loading and unloading air cargo as required
Check freight in/out to include weight and volume checks
Preparing and palletize cargo as needed
Ensuring paperwork related to the cargo is correct
Assuring proper handling and delivery of cargo and operation of related equipment
Following Dangerous Goods Requirements and Regulations
Operate specialist equipment which may include forklift trucks, pump pallet trucks and slave pallets
ULD build and breakdown
Reporting all equipment malfunctions to the appropriate supervisor/manager
Comply with all relevant legislation and airport authority and carrier security requirements
Comply with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's)
Maintaining the highest standards of safety and security at all times
Key competencies for the role:
Counterbalance forklift truck preferable
Manual Handling
Trained to a sufficient security level to be able to carry out airfreight warehouse functions in compliance to Civil Aviation Authority security standards
Good communication skills – verbal and written
Strong team player
Able to work as a team in a fast paced environment
Previous experience working in an airfreight environment desirableBenefits:
