Our client is an established and growing manufacturer and distributor of innovative & technical products for engineering and manufacturing applications.
 
As the Financial Controller, you will lead the day-to-day operations of the Accounts department, supporting the Finance Director (FD) and providing critical financial insights for management decision-making. This role offers substantial autonomy and the opportunity to drive positive changes and enhancements to ensure efficient and accurate financial reporting.

CIMA Advanced Diploma ACIMA/CGMA or equivalent, ACA/ACCA qualification.
Experience in a similar level role in a manufacturing SME environment.
Proficiency in Sage 50 and MS Excel.
Hardworking, diligent, with up-to-date knowledge of accounting regulations.
Commercial business awareness and strong communication skills.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Problem-solving approach with keen business acumen.
Good interpersonal skills and ability to multitask.
Capacity to challenge the status quo and drive changes.
Sound decision-making abilities with high attention to detail.
Management qualification.
System administration experience with Sage 50 and MS Excel BI – not essential but desirable.
ERP/MRP systems knowledge. Financial Controller – Responsibilities
Manage working capital components including stock, debtors, and cash flow, with a focus on maintaining a detailed cash flow forecast.
Maintain accurate accounting records and financial systems, ensuring internal controls are robust.
Monitor performance against budgets and forecasts, analysing gross margins, product, and customer performance.
Review month-end balance sheet reconciliations and control accounts.
Oversee monthly payroll processing and employee payments.
Act as the systems administrator for the accounting system, providing training and ensuring appropriate access.
Deliver financial performance reports regularly, ensuring effective communication of meaningful data.
Support the FD in developing and executing the taxation strategy and oversee tax return submissions.
Manage relationships with third parties such as auditors, insurance brokers, and pension scheme providers.
Conduct regular stock takes, reconciling variances and ensuring stock accuracy.
Ensure efficient conduct of the annual audit.
Undertake people management activities including performance management and disciplinary processes.
