Acorn by Synergie is currently recruiting for a well-known contractor on a temp to perm basis for multiple multi-skilled Engineers (Electrical bias) in Newport.

45 hours per week, Monday - Friday.

3 shift rotating pattern as below;

2 weeks of earlies (5:30am-2:30pm)
1 week of afters (Mon 11am - 10pm, Tues-Fri 1:30pm-10pm)
1 week of nights (9:30pm-6:30am)Rate: £20.55 per hour

Your main responsibilities will be to ensure the continuous running of the production process by eliminating downtime through a safe and logical approach to fault finding and equipment maintenance. You will work on various types of equipment, including complex hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical/electronic control systems.
You will be responsible for carrying out a range of planned and reactive engineering activities on-site.

Candidate must be/have:

* Apprentice-trained Engineer to NVQ level 3 in Electrical/ Mechanical Engineering (Or equivalent)
* Able to interrogate/understand maintenance problems to provide accurate plant condition information/recommendations.
* Understand 3 Phase Motors and Variable Speed Drives
* Experience in electrical fault finding, defect rectification, and routine maintenance activities
* Excellent communication skills, dealing with operatives and Team Leaders from both maintenance and production
* Good understanding of current environmental, health and safety issues and knowledge of regulatory requirements.
* 17th OR 18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations is desirable, however training can be provided.
* PLC fault-finding skills are beneficial, with knowledge of Allen Bradley PLC is desirable.
* Experience in mechanical fitting, hydraulics, and pneumatics will be an advantage.
