Senior Software Engineer

As a Senior Software Engineer, your primary focus will be on designing and developing embedded software tailored for vehicle access products. In addition to your technical responsibilities, you will play a crucial role in mentoring and guiding junior engineers, leveraging your expertise as a subject matter authority. Your contributions will align with the mission and vision of the electronics department, benefiting both internal teams and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide support and mentorship to junior engineers through training, feedback, and collaborative efforts.
Collaborate closely with customers and suppliers to develop and manage design requirements and specifications.
Engage in Agile Scrum teams across various project phases, ensuring alignment with development goals.
Estimate program requirements and costs, liaising with internal teams and external partners.
Contribute to new product development initiatives and facilitate knowledge transfer through lessons learned.
Develop C code to fulfill functional and technical specifications.
Conduct peer reviews to maintain code quality and adherence to coding standards like MISRAC, and CERTC.
Architect and maintain software designs to ensure scalability and maintainability.
Support Test Lab activities, including functional test requirements and validation.
Assist manufacturing in implementing inline product testing methods, specifications, and equipment selection.
Explore alternative suppliers for future product enhancements.
Evaluate, troubleshoot, and optimize electronic content within the core product portfolio.
Additional Responsibilities:
Attend mandatory job related training sessions.
Oversee ISO 26262 Functional Safety Management practices.
Provide support for EE department and SW Group development initiatives.
Manage procurement and budgeting activities for electronic components and testing equipment.
Contribute to Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VA/VE) efforts to drive efficiency and cost effectiveness.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Preferred experience in Software Project Leadership.
- Preferred experience in software design.
- Preferred 7+ years of experience in the automotive industry.
- Demonstrated ability to independently launch and lead software development projects.
- Proficiency in collaborating with global teams.
Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Proficiency in a range of electronic equipment and tools including Lab Power Supply, Soldering Iron, Oscilloscope, Digital Multimeter, Spectrum Analyzer, Component Analyzer, ESD test gun, Source meter, Electronic Load, Function Generator, Amplifier, Datalogger, Engineering EOL tester, Debugger/Programmer, MPLAB X, Visual C#, C/C++, Atmel/AVR Studio, DSP, Python, ARM.
Proficiency in MS Office suite.
Ability to effectively utilize problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, Kepnor-Tregoe, and Fishbones to identify root causes of issues.
Capability to actively contribute to peer design reviews.
Supervision Received:
Limited Guidance: Operate within established policies, objectives, and budget constraints. Exercise autonomy with direct responsibility for project outcomes.
