The Department of Cognitive Neuropsychology invites applications for a Mechatronic Engineer (m/f/x) Full time (39 hours per week) The Department of Cognitive Neuropsychology is headed by Prof. Dr. Fredrik Ullén. It provides a dynamic and enthusiastic research environment in which a wide range of techniques are employed. These range from studies of the human brain using structural and functional magnetic resonance imaging to psychological and physiological experiments, to behavioral genetic analyses of how genes and environment interact in the acquisition of new skills. We are looking for a creative and driven engineer with a high degree of intellectual independence, who at the same time enjoys working together with other engineers and technical staff in a team environment. A keen interest in technical innovation and practical problem solving in the context of cutting-edge scientific research is important. A major area of work will be the design, manufacture, and maintenance of research equipment. An example might be the production of an MRI compatible piano keyboard (without ferromagnetic materials), which would include CAD and PCB design, fabrication / 3D printing of components, and some programming. Some manufacturing may be outsourced.
