Housekeeping Laundry Attendant

The Housekeeping Laundry Attendant is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and organization of laundry facilities, maintaining a steady supply of clean linens and towels, and supporting the overall housekeeping operations.

Responsibilities:

• Collect dirty linens, towels, and other laundry items from various areas of the establishment
• Sort, pre-treat, and load laundry into washing machines following appropriate procedures
• Operate washing and drying machines, ensuring the proper selection of cycles and temperature settings
• Inspect and fold freshly laundered linens, towels, and uniforms accurately and neatly
• Check and ensure that all items are in good condition and free of stains or damages before returning them to circulation
• Maintain a well-organized and efficient laundry room, including keeping track of inventory levels
• Monitor and report any shortages or damages in linens, towels, or uniforms to the Housekeeping Supervisor
• Coordinate with the Housekeeping Supervisor to restock and order laundry supplies as needed
• Regularly clean and maintain laundry machines and equipment to ensure proper functioning
• Report any technical issues or malfunctions to the maintenance department for prompt repair
• Adhere to safety guidelines and proper handling of chemicals and cleaning agents
• Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required to ensure a safe working environment
• Work closely with the housekeeping team to ensure the timely delivery of clean linens to guest rooms and public areas
• Communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors to maintain smooth laundry operations
• Respond to guest requests related to laundry services promptly and professionally
• Demonstrate a helpful and courteous attitude towards guests, offering assistance when needed

Qualifications & Assets:

• Ability to lift bundles of linen
• Ability to work weekends, evenings and public holidays as needed
• Ability to integrate and work well in a team environment
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively and flexibility with work schedule to accommodate last minute requests
• Previous experience as a laundry worker will be considered an asset
• Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast-moving environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
