Manager Engineering 

Purpose

The goal of the Manager, Application Engineering Electronics is to supervise the Application Engineering Electronics & Mechanical teams assigned to them from a technical and managerial perspective by providing guidance, instruction, direction, and leadership for the purpose of achieving departmental goals and excellent team performance. This position also performs job functions within the department as outlined below.

Tasks

  • Manages the Application Engineering Electronics & Mechanical employees from a technical perspective with managerial responsibility including hiring and disciplinary measures, tasks, scheduling, training, coaching and performance appraisals ensuring team performance and task completion in accordance with agreed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and strategic goals
  • Participates and coordinates in application-oriented R&D projects in the area of non-destructive pipeline inspections
  • Prepares cost estimates for feasibility studies, new developments and replicas
  • Develops and implements customer specific solution including cost calculation and control (ILI, Capital Expenditure (CAPEX))
  • Develops, implements, analyzes, and optimizes processes and standards to increase efficiency and customer focus
  • Supports and directs the Change Management for the team (Engineering Change Orders (ECO), Corrective Actions, Continuous Improvement)
  • Identifies opportunities and contributes to global standardization process and documentation improvements

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Mechatronic or Electronic Engineering or equivalent technical discipline  
  • 6 years of experience in design and development of electro mechanical design and development experience and leading Mechanical and Electronics Teams 
    • 1 years of experience in a managerial or supervisory role
    • 2 years of experience with Conformité Européenne (French for "European Conformity") (CE) designs and certifications  
  • Basic commercial knowledge  
  • Basis knowledge with continuous improvement process  
  • Must be proficient in spoken and written English
