£32,500 pa

2 shifts 0600aam to 1400pm and 1400pm to 2200pm rotating weekly

PRINCIPAL JOB OBJECTIVES

To ensure that all tools are maintained and improved where required. To support production to ensure that products are manufactured in an efficient way and in line with all appropriate quality and safety standards. To take part in improvement activities to support the business in being more successful.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

* To maintain tools and production equipment

* To correctly identify tooling issues and to work with other team members to resolve these when it looks as though a more serious problem might be developing

* To take part in improvement activities

* To behave in a manner that is safe and that promotes good manufacturing practice

* To work with team members to improve the effectiveness of the change-over processes

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

* To understand all safety rules

* To understand all quality rules

* To be able to maintain tooling and production equipment

* Carry out servicing on current tooling and production equipment

* Experienced in setting and operating lathes, milling machines, surface grinders and other workshop equipment

* To implement and understand TPM and improvement processes

* To liaise with visitors as necessary

* Ability to work under own initiative as well as part of a team

* Experience in tool manufacturing

* Experience gained within a similar working environment

* Experience with CNC milling and turning using XYZ machines

* Power press and metal forming equipment

DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS

* Experience in maintaining press tools, rolling and forming tools

* To take part in the Health and Safety Committee or other representation roles as and when required

QUALIFICATIONS

* NVQ Level 3 Mechanical Engineering

* Abrasive wheel training
