Every day there are several cargo planes coming into Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. These airplanes contain customer products and packages of goods. Given that this cargo comes from abroad, this requires the handling of several administrative documents. You can think of all the international rules concerning import laws, custom guidelines, and other regulations.

As a member of the Import Office, you will play an important role in handling all the relevant administration concerning the incoming cargo. Are you well organized and not afraid to talk to people? Are you happy to work in one of the biggest airports in Europe? Then you are more than suited for this job!

No single day is the same when you would be working for the Import Office at Schiphol. Different airlines have various working methods. Therefore you must be able to think on your feet. An airline has a service level agreement (SLA), meaning they have certain guidelines to uphold. Since you have a good memory, this will not be a problem for you.

You are not simply working with documents. On the contrary, you will be talking to different people throughout the day. You will be speaking to drivers about deliveries, to internal employees and external customers, or to people from airlines or certain departments.

But obviously Schiphol is more than just a transfer station for people. Thousands of cargo flights transfer through this airport on a yearly basis. Something like an Import Office is an important mechanism in the international transfer of products and goods.

Wat wij vragen

You are currently living in The Netherlands or have at least been registered here for at least 8 years. You need to be able to speak Dutch and English.

In addition, you have 2 years or experience in a similar position. Experience with air fight related processes or something similar is advised. A degree on level MBO 3 or an equal college level for internationals is required.
