We are seeking an experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor to join a dynamic team in Colchester. As a key member of the organization, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the financial aspects of civil engineering and highway projects. Your expertise in NEC forms of contract will be essential in ensuring successful project delivery.

Responsibilities

Project Cost Management: Oversee cost estimation, budgeting, and financial control throughout the project lifecycle.
Contract Administration: Manage NEC contracts, including preparation, negotiation, and administration.
Risk Assessment: Identify and mitigate project risks related to cost, contracts, and commercial aspects.
Procurement: Collaborate with procurement teams to source materials, subcontractors, and services.
Claims and Disputes: Handle claims, variations, and disputes arising from contracts.
Team Leadership: Lead a team of quantity surveyors, providing guidance and mentorship.
Stakeholder Communication: Liaise with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication.

Qualifications

RICS Chartered Surveyor: Membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) is desirable.
Experience: Minimum of 8 - 10 years of relevant experience in quantity surveying, with a focus on civil engineering and highways.
NEC Expertise: Proficiency in working with NEC forms of contract, including NEC3 or NEC4.
Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and manage a team effectively.
Analytical Mindset: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
