Established 90 years ago, our client is recognised as a market leading contractor throughout the UK and Europe. With a specialism in commercial office and data centres projects, they also work in public, retail, health, education, leisure, residential and pharmaceutical sectors. Their experience ranges from small work contracts circa £500k to major projects in excess of £100M.
Key to their success is the development of good working relationships with their Leading consultancies and end users; delivering notable scenes across London, the UK and Europe. As a result, they benefit from a large amount of repeat business.
As a result of investment and improving market conditions the business has recently secured a number of key project wins. Their 2024 turnover is expected to be in excess of £500M with £300M already secured for 2025. As a result, they are actively looking to recruit for their commercial team.
Role: M&E Quantity Surveyor – London – Salary from £70,000 - £85,000 + £5,000 Car Allowance + Travel Expenses + Pension + Healthcare + Bonus (up to 10% of base salary)
You will be joining a major scheme in the City of London. A new commercial refurbishment which boasts an MEP package of £45million. You will be fully responsible for the commercial and surveying functions on your projects from tender handover to final account stage. However, you will have a team supporting you on the project, which is a great part of the business to assist in all aspects. They have detailed processes in place, contract support with lawyers and the chance to work towards a commercial management role.
Role/Responsibilities:
* You will be responsible for the financial management of your Project, from tender handover through to final account.
* You will be responsible for the agreement of our Variation Accounts with the Clients and must be comfortable presenting and discussing the changes to the work with Clients and PQS's
* You will liaise closely with the Operational Team to provide support and advice where necessary to ensure the project is correctly managed and risks are minimized
* You will produce a monthly cost report which is then presented to the company Directors on a monthly basis
The ideal candidate:
* As a Quantity Surveyor you will be a Degree or HNC/HND qualified Surveyor who has gained a detailed understanding of M&E systems over a minimum of 3 to 4 years of experience as a Surveyor on M&E Projects
* Alternatively have an M or E trade background and have developed surveying abilities with on the job experience or further professional studies through the day release or distance learning route
* You will have a good understanding of the standard forms of contract
* You will ideally have some experience of Fit Out and Shell & Core / Infrastructure Projects working for similar leading companies in these sectors.
