We are currently recruiting for our client, who due to continued growth and expansion are looking to introduce a new role to the business of Financial Controller, this role will not only drive the day to day financial reporting but also the longer term financial strategy of the business. Reporting directly into the MD you will have the gravitas to present the numbers at board level as well as to lead the team and work cross functionally across the operation.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Construct and deliver the company's annual budget, moving in the future towards a rolling three year plan. Annual budgets prepared on a timely, accurately basis.
* Identify areas of underperformance, overspend and implement an action plan to rectify.
* Ensure the control of all departmental administrative systems and procedures. Develop procedures in line with best practice, and the latest corporate governance and legislative requirements.
* Ensure weekly & period reporting is fit for purpose, timely and accurate.
* Ensure monitoring and reporting processes are in place and corrective action taken where necessary to control bad debt, working capital, cash balances, stock levels and capital expenditure.
* Demonstrate excellent levels of cross departmental working and engagement with peers and the wider team, as required.
* Remain abreast of industry trends & developments, macro and micro economic conditions, and recommending actions & considerations for adapting and improvement.
* Creating open and effective relationships with key customers and internal/external suppliers, demonstrating excellent communication skills.
In order to be considered for the role you must be able to demonstrate that you have operated in a senior financial role within the FMCG sector, ideally food. You will have the ability to work with complex ever changing numbers. It is preferred that you are fully qualified, either ACCA or CIMA but candidates qualified by experience will also be considered
