Senior Fire Engineer Job in Wolverhampton, West Midlands
Senior Fire Engineer job in Wolverhampton, West Midlands for a growing fire team, joining an established engineering and design consultancy. The role will be reporting to the Head of Fire Engineering providing fire engineering services and project managing whilst overseeing a small and expanding team. Offering a salary of up to £100,000 (negotiable) + Hybrid/Remote Working.
They are an award-winning consultancy based across 3 offices in the UK, providing design and engineering services across fire engineering, façade engineering, M&E and sustainability. They are now looking to grow their fire engineering team led by a highly experienced Head of Fire Engineering, the role will be working on residential and commercial projects in the UK and internationally.
Role & Responsibilities
- Represent the company for the delivery of Fire Engineering consultancy services
- Be a Fire Engineering advocate that drives positive innovation and change
- Share Fire Engineering knowledge to employees within the group via CPDs and other forms of communication
- Project management of Fire Engineering client instructions
- Ensure compliance and stay up to date with relevant current and upcoming change to regulations / legislation
- Work with clients and engineers to project manage fire engineering projects
- Inform and support design aspirations, functionality and architectural form throughout the design process
- Maintain responsibility for the financial performance and delivery of your projects
- Represent the company at design team meetings, work with approval authorities on designs and proposals
- Provide appropriate and sustainable fire engineering design solutions to clients
- Review calculations including smoke modelling and evacuation analysis
- Manage relationships with internal and external clients, engineers and other stakeholders
- Act as the Lead Fire Engineer on projects
- Undertake site inspections to existing and new buildings to appraise fire safety provisions
- Write reports and assist in making remedial measure recommendations
- Provide technical input into EWS1 façade assessments and FRAEW's.
Required Skills & Experience
- Ideally Degree in Fire Engineering or similar
- CEng or working towards
- Experienced in delivering fire and life safety designs and fire engineered solutions for UK Based projects
- Experienced gaining agreement for prescriptive and performance-based design solutions from approving authorities
- Experience of delivering a range of fire safety consultancy services within the facade industry.
