We seek a talented, professional team leader with exceptional technical and creative skills to deliver industry-leading event solutions.

The Technical Manager (Live Events) role requires expertise in event installs, derigs, and complex technical setups, including flooring, set builds, AV lighting, truss and DMX control, and graphics. You will oversee EPH-run technical installs and projects, ensuring sufficient equipment and expertise on-site while providing specialist advice. Additionally, you will support technical props from pre-install test builds to delivery and setup, liaising with team members across the business.

Frequent UK-wide travel is required, with a flexible schedule and a positive attitude. Strong practical and people management skills are essential, as you will lead company staff and on-site crews at events. Your problem-solving skills and creative flair are crucial for making quick, informed decisions and ensuring a visually appealing setup.

Responsibilities

*    Focus on detailed installs and derigs, liaising with internal and external departments to equip installers with tools and knowledge.
*    Communicate with Design, Production, and Operations teams about technical builds before dispatch.
*    Conduct pre-event site visits to check for conflicts, access issues, and take measurements.
*    Attend sites for technical props and bespoke installations, leading team members and coordinating with third-party staff to ensure success.
*    Ensure all scenic, prop build, and dressing tasks are executed to a high standard.
*    Adhere to Health & Safety standards and ensure RAMS compliance.
*    Efficiently resolve issues or last-minute changes to event plans.
*    Obtain client feedback during installs and communicate issues to the Event Operations Manager.
*    Lead or assist on-site for installations and derigs as needed.
*    Produce technical data sheets, product specs, and installation risk assessments.
*    Provide level 3 & 4 technical prop support in-house, on-site, or on-call.
*    Oversee installation department kit, ensuring adequate stock levels and maintenance.
*    Prepare and organise all event equipment for upcoming jobs.
*    Manage plant equipment hire and return.
*    Ensure regular maintenance and PAT Testing/Safety checks on all equipment.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

*    Proficient in carpet, fake grass, and vinyl cutting, shaping, and fitting on various substrates.
*    Experience constructing exhibition stands and outdoor displays using diverse materials.
*    Proficient in reading technical plans and product design drawings; CAD and SketchUp skills are an advantage.
*    Experience installing at large-scale events.
*    Skills in AV theatre lighting, cable management, AV desk DMX, truss installation, or rigging; certifications are a plus.
*    Experience mounting graphic panels, prints, and signage.
*    Excellent hand and power tool proficiency.
*    Experience with plant equipment (e.g., cherry pickers, scissor lifts); IPAF 3A or 3B certification is an advantage.
*    Formal certification or extensive experience in Health and Safety and risk assessments (NEBOSH or IOSH preferred).
*    Comfortable driving a 3.5T vehicle; a 7.5-ton license is an advantage.

Salary:

*    £16-18 per hour with some negotiation for the right candidate
*    Uplifts for unsociable hours (£5 additional p/h between 11pm-5am)
*    £50 per night allowance for any overnights
