Kenton Black Middle East are currently partnering our client an international PMC and renowned claims consultancy who are looking to appoint a Senior or Principle Quantum Claims Consultant or Associate Director to work within there Saudi Arabia, Riyadh branch and reporting directly into the country partner.
This is a exciting opportunity working on some of the regions PIF funded projects and some of the most groundbreaking construction projects in the world.
The position will be delivering and assisting with the following:
* Provide quantum and/or commercial management to the Recovery and Expert Witness teams.
* Recovery service by assisting contract and commercial specialists in providing strategic advice to clients whose project/s and major programmes are in commercial distress, you may be based within the clients offices working closely with senior managers, so the ability to manage relationships is critical
* Expert Witness services, by assisting in-house quantum experts in delivering expert quantum reports for adjudication, litigation, and other forms of dispute resolution.
* Successful applicants will work in a team, or manage a team undertaking detailed analysis of construction projects and must be familiar with bespoke forms of contract as well as FIDIC, you must be able to produce detailed narrative, inline with company presentable formats.
The work produced will need to be detailed and delivered to a high standard that can withstand scrutiny by other parties. The successful applicant will:
* Require a forensic and exploratory mindset
* Have a strong knowledge of the construction industry
* Need an understanding of construction contracts and law
* Be able to work independently where required and agile to adapting to the working method of others
Required Qualifications
* Relevant construction and engineering industry experience +7-10yrs
* BSc Honours Quantity Surveying and legal qualification LLM preferable, RICS
* Experience in developing and pursuing claims pre and post
* Ability to understand and articulate Client requirements and their desired outcomes
* Critically analyse project and major programme performance, identifying root cause of those elements in distress
* Effective stakeholder management with the Client and at all levels of the supply-chain, chairing meetings with the Client and other advisors as necessary
* Review and assess contemporaneous project records to establish quantum associated with claims and/or disputes
* Working knowledge of relevant applications and technologies in the quantity surveying, commercial management industry, for example BCIS, Cost-X, CEMAR
* Assist clients, lawyers and counsel in developing its position where required
* Support the drafting of detailed expert witness reports for use in formal dispute resolution proceedings
* Providing direction to staff working with you on specific tasks
* Supporting the interface with the client and other consultants, at all project stages
Previous middle east experience is preferable but not essential for this position
