Head of Legal (Life Science / Bio Tech)

We have been exclusively instructed on a new Head of Legal opportunity based in the Cambridge region within the Biotechnology sector. The position is on a hybrid basis (one day a week office based) handling a broad range of commercial agreements and data privacy, whilst managing the In-House legal team.

Key Responsibilities:

Overseeing all legal aspects for the company and providing legal advice and guidance across the business.
Drafting and negotiation of a variety of commercial contracts which will include CDA's, MSA's, MTA's, T&C's, Sponsorship Agreements, Collaboration Agreements, Clinical Trial Agreements and Supply Contracts.
Handling Data Privacy/GDPR matters with some additional support of a DPO.
Management of the In-House Legal function.
Act as a conduit for the Legal team with senior management when implementing new Policies and Procedures across the business.Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

UK qualified Solicitor or Barrister with minimum 8 years PQE (candidates qualified in any commonwealth jurisdiction will also be considered with the relevant experience)
Must have an In-House background with Biotechnology and/or Life Science Sector experience.
Experience advising, negotiating and drafting a broad range of commercial agreements to include clinical trial and supply agreements.
Background handling data protection/GDPR.
Experience of managing or supervision of a team.
Personable, approachable with first class communication skills.
