Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off Days

Salary: Between £35k - £39k DOE

Job Description

As a First Line Manager you will be working with the Shift Manager to fine tune the current operation and be responsible for the day-to-day management of your team. 

Job responsibilities of First Line Manager Include:

Manage team safety, attendance, performance, productivity, and accuracy levels, motivating team members to achieve high levels.
Responsible for the promotion of Health & Safety within the warehouse.
Co-ordinate and motivate the warehouse operation to ensure effective operational performance. 
Drive continuous improvement within the warehouse, implementing plans to consistently improve the performance. 
Responsible for ensuring that shift plans are created and that operational hours are in place to ensure operational stability.
Overall management and responsibility for achieving operational KPI’s. 
Maintain a good working knowledge of warehouse operational areas including Prob Res, returns, inventory control, delivery schedules, mill production, third party receipts along with Health & Safety procedures.
Communicate confidently and effectively with staff, customers, and other areas of the business to maintain and develop positive relationships.
Responsible for monitoring and confirming your teams’ daily hours on Kronos.
Responsible for controlling labour costs, whilst ensuring a flow of work is maintained throughout the warehouse without any disruption to the business. 
Responsible for proactively managing and addressing any disciplinary matters that may arise ensuring that the correct procedure is always followed.
Responsible for the control and management of all sickness and absence, supporting and managing employees effectively to ensure low levels of absence. 
Providing a weekly summary of agency hours worked and raising PO’s if required.
Ensuring that you or your Team Leaders respond to any incidents or accidents on site.  This includes but is not limited to ensuring that First Aid is administered, the scene is made safe and secured, the incident is investigated and uploaded to Assure within 24 hours.
Ensure that your team are reporting Hazard Spots, Near Misses, Incidents and Accidents and are logging them on Assure.
Review all safe systems of work annually with your team, these should also be logged as safety conversations on Assure.
Ensuring that all the above tasks are covered by your Team Leaders in your absence.
All other duties deemed as appropriate by your line manager.

Qualifications

As a First Line Manager you will possess the following skill, experiences and qualifications:

Passion for delivering an exceptional customer service experience.
Attention to detail/ accuracy.
Good geographical knowledge.
Proficient in computer literacy including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
SAP experience.
Excellent communication skills in order to deliver accurate information.
Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
Conscientious and reliable with adaptable attitude.
