Director Assurance and Advisory- Honolulu Office - Honolulu, HI
Responsibilities:
Maintains contact with clients throughout the year; possesses a thorough knowledge of the client and all facets of the clients business and control systems; building and maintaining good client relationships
Oversees all phases of an audit, review or accounting engagement when reporting to an engagement partner and ensures the client deliverable complies with both the applicable accounting framework and firm policy
Demonstrates a thorough knowledge and proficiency in the necessary technical skills needed to advise clients
Supervises staff assigned to engagements and provides on-the-job training; reviews work papers and reports prepared by the engagement team in accordance with firm policy
Plays a pivotal role in staff performance evaluations, reviews and periodic counseling
Involved in the recruitment of staff and interviews Assurance and Advisory candidates when needed
Acts as a representative of the firm in business development matters; develops a network of business contacts and referrals to generate business for the firm
Assumes the lead role on prospective client leads assigned to them and responsible for initial communications with prospective clients, generating fee estimates and attending prospective client meetings
Minimum Qualifications:
Approximately 10 years experience in public accounting and a minimum of 3 years in a senior manager position
Bachelors degree in accounting or related field
Holds a current and valid CPAs license
Ability to travel to assigned client locations
Demonstrated ability to bring in new business to a CPA Firm
Tax Manager Honolulu
The Manager is responsible for the efficient, accurate, complete, and timely preparation of all clients tax returns. Advanced technical skills in a variety of tax and accounting areas, along with well developed and applied management and supervisory skills are required. The Manager makes decisions on all but the most unusual tax situations.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Demonstrated knowledge of current tax laws.
Proficiency in use of computer tax preparation, tax research, and tax planning software programs.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Responsible for the development, coaching and training of Supervising Seniors, Seniors,Semi-seniors and Staff accountants.
Participates in reviews and evaluations of the Tax Department.
Minimum Qualifications:
At least five to seven years' experience in public accounting, demonstrating a proven progression in tax complexity, scope, and research.
Minimum one (1) year experience supervising and directing other tax accountants
Bachelors degree in accounting required, Masters degree in taxation preferred.
A current and valid certified public accountants license is required.
