Our client is a very well-established, market-leading, family owned contractor based in the Midlands area who deliver decoration works on the largest projects the construction industry is capable of producing throughout the UK. They have vast experience in all sectors including healthcare, education, commercial and residential and are able to adapt to suit client requirements. They are also able to provide decoration and maintenance solutions to existing facilities management teams and property landlords to provide a one stop shop solution.
They are looking to engage an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their existing commercial team.
Salary will depend on experience, if you are an Assistant moving into a QS role then it would be £35-45k, but a more experienced QS moving into a Senior QS role would be more like £45-60k. The client is happy to take a view based on specific candidate experience as they want the right character & skill set for this role. The package will include a £5k car allowance & 25 days holiday + bank holidays.
They also offer flexible working, which works out around 3 days in the office and 2 days from home if desired (to suit business needs) - as a commercial team they usually get together in the office on Mondays, Wednesdays & Thursdays, subject to attending meetings on site.
Painting & Decorating background is not essential as they are open to a main contractor or any finishing trade sub-contractor background. It’s the understanding of surveying and commercial/ contractual procedures that matters more than knowledge of the painting trade itself
