Sociology Teacher Needed

Are you an experienced Sociology Teacher looking for work ?

PK Education are recruiting a SecondarySchool Sociology Teacher for a large sized secondary school located in the Wolverhampton area. This role requires an enthusiastic teacher with a positive attitude to teach KS4 & KS5 Sociology  on a full-time basis (5 days per week).  There may also be a need to cover safew R.E lessons so addtitional experience The successful candidate for this role will have the opportunity to work with a fantastic team in a welcoming environment.

This is a comprehensive 11-18 school and sixth form that caters to children from differemnt backgrounds and abilities. The school require candidates to have extensive curriculum knowledge and experience in a similar role. The school has a strong leadership team in place supporting the improvement of attainment levels.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Work alongside the Curriculum Lead to ensure the curriculum is up to date and meets the needs of the students
Adapt lessons to suit the needs of children
Create a stimulating learning environment
Support KS4 and KS5 pupils
Conduct assessments and progress reports for individual pupils
Ensure pupils are meeting set targets
Produce interactive and engaging lesson plans to deliver to the leaners
Provide additional 1:1 support for pupils with additional needs
Support pupils with additional GCSE and A-Level support
Attend parents evenings when required
The successful Sociology Teacher must:

Support students with the transition of the next stage of their education or training
Have previous experience working in a secondary school
Hold a degree in Sociology or within a simlar subject.
Have a QTS
Demonstrate excellent knowledge and understanding of the national curriculum
Have strong resilience and patience
Be a great team-player and form good relationships within the school environment
Good classroom and behaviour management
