Job Description:
We are currently seeking a skilled and reliable Class 1 HGV Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting materials utilizing walking floor and/or ejector trailers, predominantly focusing on recycling operations. This role will involve transporting contaminated timber and building site waste, adhering to safety and environmental regulations at all times.
Responsibilities:
* Safely operate Class 1 HGV vehicles equipped with walking floor and/or ejector trailers.
* Transport recyclable materials, including contaminated timber and building site waste, to designated locations.
* Adhere to all relevant safety procedures and regulations during loading, transport, and unloading processes.
* Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the mechanical soundness of the vehicle.
* Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and hours worked.
* Communicate effectively with dispatchers, colleagues, and clients to ensure smooth operations.
* Perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks and report any mechanical issues promptly.
* Maintain cleanliness and organization of the vehicle and workspace.
Qualifications:
* Valid Class 1 HGV license with CPC qualification.
* Proven experience operating walking floor and/or ejector trailers preferred.
* Solid understanding of relevant safety regulations and procedures.
* Excellent driving record with no major violations.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Flexibility to work occasional overnights as required.
* Physical fitness to handle loading and unloading tasks as needed.
