Infocus Resources are currently seeking an experienced Section Engineer for work on a high profile, long-term project in Plymouth.
The Role
As a Section Engineer, you will be responsible for managing the construction site to achieve the required project delivery according to the Clients' objectives, while upholding standards of health and safety, quality, environmental impact, and cost control. You will deliver the project to the specified quality, within the required programme, and to maximise commercial performance. The post-holder will work closely with the Commercial Department, engineers, and surveyors to ensure projects are completed safely, meeting or exceeding customer requirements and expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Ensuring the setting out of works is completed within the permissible tolerances.
* Regularly verifying the setting out points and benchmarks and confirming that all setting out instruments and measuring equipment are delivered to the site with a calibration certificate and appropriately recorded.
* Ensuring the workforce understands that the setting out information has been identified as suitable for the type of work being undertaken.
* Overseeing the preparation of sketches for on-site distribution, ensuring that clear communication channels are established for effective understanding.
* Managing systems to review the progress of work against time, quality, dimensions, and quantity.
* Set a high personal example of safety and environmental behaviour.
* Supervise subcontractors, assistant and site engineers, and the workforce, ensuring they understand the RAMS before commencing the shift on setting out methods and techniques
Key Skills:
* You possess commercial and contractual awareness and are adept at using your problem-solving skills.
* You have people management skills and can liaise professionally with clients and the public.
* You have proven project management, organisational, and team leadership abilities.
* Desirable, experience in RC works and Piling (rotary bored piling)
